On Thursday, 29 November Chris Difford, founding member of Squeeze and one of Britain’s most iconic and celebrated lyricists, will take a break from his UK tour with Squeeze to take part in an exclusive Q&A session at Opus Fine Art, Stow on the Wold, followed by an acoustic set at nearby pub The Talbot.
Chris Difford’s timeless kitchen sink lyrics for songs including Cool for Cats, Up the Junction and Tempted bring characters to life and turn the mundane into the beautiful. Chris Difford will be talking about his musical and songwriting career at Opus Fine Art, Sheep Street, Stow on the Wold from 7.30pm, before performing some of his much loved songs at The Talbot, The Square from 8.30pm.
Both venues will be exhibiting Chris Difford’s signed, limited edition fine art prints, the result of a collaboration with designer Andrew Morrison. Released earlier this year, these collectable screenprints feature some of Difford’s best-loved lyrics, such as I Never Thought it Would Happen, taken from Up the Junction, You Left My Ring By The Soap, from Is That Love? and Laundry on the Hill, from Tempted. They are exclusive to Opus Fine Art, and will be able to purchase during the evening at the special price of £100 each (RRP £120). Chris Difford will even personally dedicate prints – a perfect Christmas gift for a music fan or art collector. From signed editions of 100, the prints are selling quickly from the gallery and online
