Dave White: New Paintings

Opus Gallery is proud to present a solo exhibition featuring new work by Dave White.

Liverpool based artist Dave White draws inspiration from things he loves and has created oil paintings of sneakers, cars, animals and comic characters to date. A graduate of Liverpool John Moores University, White’s colourful, vigorously energetic brand of contemporary pop art earned him praise from the very inception of his career. His early work, created whilst working in John Lennon’s old studio, was selected for the Northern Graduates Exhibition which toured UK venues including the Royal College of Art, London.

Since then his work has appeared in countless solo and group exhibitions worldwide in Kuala Lumpur, Miami, Barcelona, New York, Tokyo and throughout Europe. He has featured alongside prominent artists such as Damien Hirst and David Hockney, catching the attention of numerous companies and corporations with work in collections belonging to Nike, the Cohen Family, Converse, Lacoste and Rocafella Records to name a few. More recently, a collaboration with Coca Cola exhibited at the famous Dia Arts Centre, New York heralded White as a pop artist for the twenty first century, and The Oriental Daily News described White as "the Warhol of his generation". He has been featured in many publications including Time Out London, GQ Magazine, The Evening Standard, and was on the cover of Creative Review.

White’s latest series Superheroes and Villains comprises of large scale oil portrayals of comic book characters and is set to generate the interest that has thus far characterised the career of this uniquely spirited talent.
