Shi LiFeng
Shi LiFeng is an internationally exhibiting Chinese artist, who has had shows in China, France, Scandinavia, The Netherlands, England and Singapore to date, including exposure at world renowned art fair Art Basel.
Lifeng’s current Red Person series has been interpreted as a rigorous investigation into the possibilities of painting whilst exploring the powerlessness of those living on the edge of society. The struggling red figures contrast black or vivid blue backgrounds, allowing their struggle to almost bounce off the canvas as well as exist within it. The figures appear almost artificial like plastic figurines, an effect that could only be achieved through the greatest patience and dexterity on LiFeng’s part.
