Liu XinTao
Liu XinTao is currently Vice Professor at Le Shan Fine Art Academy, having completed his own art training in 1992. The artist has since received a phenomenal amount of coverage, with exhibitions all over China, as well as in Indonesia, Hong Kong, Italy, Israel and Canada. XinTao is also collecting quite a collection of honoraries, winning a prize at the 2nd Sichuan Young Artists Exhibition (2002) and a Special Achievement Award in 2005 at the Lu Shin Cup Painting Competition. He has also been recognised by the media of the art world, with features in fine art publications which include the widely read Contemporary Fine Art and Oriental Art.
XinTao’s work is highly unusual, and represents something close to what we see in western urban art; his blurry paintings exemplify the fast moving 21st century and its relentless focus on commerce – which XinTao emphasises using advertising placards and fast food logos as centrepieces of his images. The artist’s work will be eagerly welcomed by UK art admirers keen to see a fresh take on issues much toyed with in the art world today.
