John Stoddart’s photography is amongst the most famous celebrity portraiture today. Epitomising modern notions of sex and fame, Stoddart's subjects include Jude Law, Sienna Miller and Daniel Craig, and he was responsible for the infamous nude shot of Liz Hurley in 1992. John has also captured nameless models and strippers, in his irreducibly erotic images. His work is frequently published in Loaded and GQ, and in 2004 a retrospective was published in Peepworld.
In his retrospective, Stoddart explained ‘I’m convinced that a lot of photography is almost a sexual act…In my pictures there is a story in every frame but they don’t have a beginning, middle or end. It’s up to the person looking at them.’
