Brian Jones
Liverpool born Brian Jones has worked and collaborated with the infamous Jamie Reid for many years, aiding the production of Reid’s renowned anarchist artwork. Jones has since established a strong reputation in his own right, for his own politically suggestive New Pop Art. The artist has been shown next to an enviable calibre of artists – including Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and Richard Hamilton. Brian’s work is also widely collected – and holding a place in both the V&A and House of Commons.
Jones’ work plays with iconography – with a Botticellian Venus featuring in ‘The Birth of Rock and Roll’, and modern icons starring in 'Chelvis' and 'Madollar'. Unsurprisingly, a range of modern celebrities own his culturally relevant work – from politicians, to footballers, to pop stars. The artist is now working on a book - Dada Pop n Pistols – publication of which is eagerly anticipated.
